The manufacture date shown by the serial number is not the same as your warranty start date. Most warranties run from the installation or purchase date and can depend on registration and proof of purchase. Only Amana can confirm whether your unit is covered.

Furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps and air handlers using the commonly reported modern format, roughly 2000s onward. Other formats need direct confirmation.

Reading the manufacture date code

For a confirmed modern serial format, the first two numeric characters are commonly used as a two-digit year in the 2000s. The reviewed independent evidence does not yet establish the month positions, so this tool reports the year only.
