Common reasons claims are denied

From Le Creuset's own terms S1:

  • Abuse, neglect, overheating, commercial or other non-consumer use, and use outside the care instructions (enameled cast iron).
  • Overheating damage, and scratches, stains, discoloration or corrosion (stoneware, Non-stick PRO, kettles and stockpots, bakeware; line-specific wording applies).
  • Normal wear and tear, accident, misuse and abuse (stoneware and other lines).
  • Dishwasher use and rim rusting (metal bakeware).
  • The non-stick coating on Tri-Ply stainless steel.
  • Secondhand ownership: the warranty applies to the original retail purchaser or a recipient who got the item new and unused as a gift.

Le Creuset's page does not define "accident" or say what counts as overheating, so ask the warranty team which exclusion it applied if you are refused.

Before you buy or if your claim is denied

Keep your order confirmation and photograph the item when it arrives; the claim form works from photos. If a claim is denied, you can reply with more detail on how you used and cleaned the piece, or ask what alternative the company can offer. Enamel damage can also be a matter for a local repair or replacement option outside the warranty.
