This page covers Stanley 1913 drinkware and food containers. Stanley-branded hand tools are a different product line and are not covered here.

Is it covered? (quick verdict)

  • Term: drinkware and food containers are covered "for the life of the product" [S1]. Lids, seals and straws are excluded [S1].
  • Scope: defects, including degradation of thermal performance, when the product is used normally and cared for per the instructions [S1].
  • Who is covered: the warranty applies only to products bought from Stanley 1913 or an authorised seller [S1]. Original-owner-only: Not stated by Stanley.
  • Remedy: Stanley repairs or replaces at its discretion and expense, using a comparable current product; if none exists it contacts you about options [S1]. Replacements do not guarantee colour or finish, and custom-design products cannot be re-printed or engraved [S1].
  • Not covered: non-stainless-steel parts, counterfeits, normal wear (scratches, dents, blemishes), post-purchase modifications such as engraving, accidents, abuse or misuse, natural disasters [S1].

Before you file: checklist

  • [ ] Proof of purchase or return of the defective product: Stanley says it "may require" either [S1].
  • [ ] Images: the claim page says images are required to process a claim. For a warranty claim, include a photo of the product failure (if applicable) and a photo of the bottom of the product for identification. Files must be JPG, PNG or GIF, up to 20MB in total [S2]. The warranty page adds that Stanley may ask for photos or videos to verify the defect [S1].
  • [ ] Registration: Not stated by Stanley.
  • [ ] Authorised seller: required [S1].
  • [ ] Condition: no engraving or accessories added after purchase, and care instructions followed [S1].
  • [ ] Serial number: Not stated by Stanley.

How to file, step by step

  1. Check that the product is drinkware or a food container and not just a lid, seal or straw [S1].
  2. Gather proof of purchase (Stanley says it may require it or return of the product) and the images the claim page asks for [S1, S2].
  3. Open Stanley's claim form and choose the option that best matches your need (order error, shipping damage or warranty claim), completing all fields [S2].
  4. Attach the images and submit. Stanley says a member of its team will be in touch shortly [S1].
  5. Be ready for a request to return the product [S1].

How long does it take?

What Stanley states: no processing time; only that a team member will be in touch "shortly" [S1].

Dated public reports (Customer report, not verified), from one Trustpilot page [S3]:

  • One customer reported in October 2026 being first told paint peeling was not covered, then receiving a replacement within a couple of days after emailing.
  • One customer reported in October 2026 a replacement delivered within a week.
  • One customer reported in October 2026 that a lifetime-warranty claim was refused because a 2016 receipt could not be supplied.
  • One UK-based customer reported in November 2026 that an offered replacement had not yet arrived.

These are self-selected reviews.

Common reasons claims are denied

  • Normal wear, which Stanley lists as scratches, dents and blemishes from use [S1].
  • Lids, seals and straws [S1].
  • Non-stainless-steel parts [S1].
  • Engraving or other modification after purchase, and not following care instructions [S1].
  • Counterfeit product or purchase from a seller that is not authorised [S1].
  • Accidents, abuse or misuse, and natural disasters [S1].

Before you buy or if your claim is denied

Buy from Stanley 1913 or a named authorised seller, and keep the receipt as long as you keep the product. Engraving after purchase is listed as an exclusion, so check before customising [S1]. If a claim is refused, you can ask the retailer about its own return policy.
