Is it covered? (quick verdict)

ZAGG's Americas policy covers ZAGG, InvisibleShield, IFROGZ, mophie, Gear4 and BRAVEN products bought from ZAGG.com or an authorised reseller [S1]. Terms differ by line:

Coverage Products Remedy
30-day return Items bought from ZAGG.com or an authorised retailer Replacement, exchange or refund
90-day ZAGG Max Protection; certified refurbished ZAGG items Replacement or exchange
1-year Most ZAGG productivity products, InvisibleShield UV Sanitizer, IFROGZ Replacement or exchange
2-year Gear4 accessories (not cases), mophie, BRAVEN Replacement or exchange
3-year Select productivity products marked on the insert Replacement or exchange
Limited lifetime InvisibleShield (not UV Sanitizer), ISOD, Gear4 and ZAGG cases, mophie PRO Cable Replacement or exchange

Who is covered: the original end-user only. ZAGG says its warranties are non-transferrable and available only to the original end-user who bought directly from ZAGG or an authorised reseller [S1].

Exclusions, by coverage type [S1]:

  • 90-day, 1-, 2- and 3-year warranties cover defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, and do not cover normal wear and tear, use outside the product's intended purpose, unauthorised modification or alteration, or loss.
  • Limited lifetime products are warranted "against wear and damage", so the wear exclusion above does not apply to them. Custom cases, ZAGG tablet and desktop keyboards and other productivity products are not in the lifetime list. ZAGG Custom Cases have their own warranty that excludes normal wear such as scratches, dents and chips.
  • All lines: unauthorised sellers (ZAGG says many Amazon, eBay and social-media sellers are not authorised) and second-hand items are not covered; repair or alteration by anyone other than ZAGG or its authorised providers voids the warranties.

Common reasons claims are denied

  • Not registered at ZAGG.com before the claim [S1].
  • Unauthorised seller, second-hand, or not the original end-user [S1].
  • On the 90-day, 1-, 2- and 3-year warranties: normal wear and tear, use outside intended purpose, unauthorised modification or loss [S1].
  • On ZAGG Custom Cases: normal wear such as scratches, dents and chips [S1].
  • Repair or alteration by anyone other than ZAGG or its authorised service providers, or suspected fraud or abuse [S1].
  • Not returning the original within 60 days, when return is required, leads to a card charge rather than a denial [S1].

Before you buy or if your claim is denied

Buy from ZAGG.com or an authorised reseller, register at once and keep the receipt. The 30-day return goes through the place of purchase [S1].
